Greenisland Community week 2019

Greenisland Community Week is a churches led initiative to express the love of God for the people of Greenisland in various ways, including activities for children, community action, and social events.

The event will run from Monday 29th July - Friday 2nd August

The week is led and organised by volunteers from four local churches: Baptist, Church of Ireland, Methodist and Presbyterian churches.

The Greatest Show

HOLIDAY CLUB

The Holiday Club runs every day from 10am - 12.30pm, and is suitable for primary school aged children. There will be games, stories, songs and drama, and finishes with a BBQ on Friday night.

SUMMER MANGO TOTS

During the holiday club, a parent and toddler group will be meeting throughout the week in Greenisland Baptist with activities for children under 4.

Mango cafe

The cafe in Greenisland Baptist will be open every day from 10am - 12.30pm. A perfect place to wait during the Holiday Club!

Community work

Each afternoon there will be an opportunity to engage in the local community with different projects.

Youth Team

The youth team is open to young people going into Year 10 and up. Each day the team will be assisting in the running of the kids club, community service projects such as gardening, visiting the care homes and doing some cleaning around the schools. There will be lunch together and a devotional team time. On two of the nights there will be some social activities including a BBQ at Browns Bay!

Soul CAFE

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday at 7.30pm.

Special themed evenings where people come together and share their stories of how they have encountered Jesus. These are:

Question of Sport- Table Quiz and special Guest Stuart Elliott

Special by design- Craft workshop

Board Game Cafe- hosted by Jack Straws

COMMUNITY WEEK CELEBRATION & BBQ

On Friday at 6pm the Holiday Club will demonstrate to parents and family what they have been learning throughout the week at a special service in Greenisland Baptist. After this there will be a BBQ and Carnival on the green at Glassillan Grove.

On Sunday 28th July there is an opportunity for Christians from across Greenisland to meet together to pray over our community. This will take place at 7.00pm in Greenisland Presbyterian Church.
